  1. Happened to flick on to the last 15 mins of Homeland, but it was enough to gage that it is a Top show! Over the past few years all we’ve had to chose from with cloak-7-dagger shows, have been those woefully predicatble and boring programs like Criminal Minds etc etc. But Homeland really looks good. OK, I only viewed a smidgin of it. However, I know a good story and good acting when I see it!

  2. If anyone beats Jessica Lange for anything she is nominated for in the coming tv awards Season for her work in “American Horror Story” a huge injustice will have been perpetrated. Simply the best work by any woman ever in any television series ever. And the series itself goes from strength to strength each week. Love it!!!

  3. @l3xm4rk

It is very easy to go past Buscemi when you sit through 13 episodes of Bryan Cranston out acting anyone in television or film

Also in regards to Modern Family, I have watched it since the start and enjoy it, by my goodness it does not deserve the praise it gets. For some reason Community, Parks & Rec and Louie are overlooked, I can kind of understand why It’s Always Sunny misses out, but it’s still fantastic.

Oh well at least the Emmy’s have a decent idea of what quality is.

  4. Well, apart from all the whinging below, it is great to see Game of Thrones, Homeland and Downton Abbey nominated.

Would like to see Game of Thrones or Homeland win best drama, but Boardwalk Empire might take it out again (won last year).

Peter Dinklage is a lock for best supporting actor – great performance as Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones.

Reckon Maggie Smtih will take best supporting actress.

Claire Danes to take a globe 2 years in a row (won last year for Temple Grandin) – think she’s awesome in Homeland.

Hard to go past Steve Buscemi for best actor.

    Modern Family for comedy.

    Downton Abbey for mini-series.

  5. How does Zooey get a nomination after being on air for 5 minutes, and Emily doesn’t after 7 years?
There should be tension at the Deschanel family Christmas, I reckon.

  6. Anyone with any knowledge of film and television knows what a embarrassment the golden globes are.

To not have the best television show since Deadwood nominated (Breaking Bad) is just too stupid for words. Also rubbing salt into the wound is American Horror Story get a nomination, I have watched all 11 episodes so far, it is entertaining, but as an actual piece of television it is a pretty crap show.

Not having Aaron Paul nominated is also pathetic, gave easily the best performance in this years fourth season, nearly actually out-acting Cranston. So get rid of Eric Stonestreet who now is just playing a characiture of the role he did so well in season 1. While at it, get Johhny Galecki out of the lead actror in comedy series, he is a very poor actor playing a thinly written character. Replace him with either Charlie Day, Joel McHale or Louis C,K. Actually just put those three in place of Galecki, Thomas Jane and Matt Leblanc

  7. What the…? There is so much wrong with this, but the really unforgivable one – no Breaking Bad for best drama?!

Then there’s pretty much the entire comedy category (well, I can’t comment on Enlightened as I haven’t seen it, but I Know that Glee, Modern Family, The New Girl and especially Episodes are bad); other undeserved noms in American Horror Story and Boss; and shows like Parks and Rec, Community, Always Sunny and more are absent from their categories.

At least Cranston and Homeland got a bit of love, but this list mainly makes me cranky.
