  1. For most of us Molly has been an important part of our childhood, teen-aged years and beyond. We all grew up with him around – the thought of him not being around was horrifying. Let’s hope we don’t have to live with that reality anytime soon. As Adam Hills tweeted “don’t leave us this way”. Do yourself (and us) a favour and get well very soon – you’re a national treasure and I hope you know that now!

  2. I probably said it earlier this year, when bets were on for the logies Hall of Fame inductions, and i reckon Ian Meldrum should be in it, especially now! If all this rallying of support and tweets etc are forthcoming, the tv industry should acknowledge his contribution to tv, to pop music on tv, and to broadcasting – going back nearly 40 years since his days as a music journo, through his ‘researcher’ and ‘talent co-ordinator’ on Countdown, and the years on Hey Hey, Foxtel, Seven. The Countdown years alone should make either him or the show inducted, for its legacy. A 2006 poll by the ABC on people’s fave ABC show of all time – Playschool followed by Countdown. Get well Molly, you’re not done yet!

  3. Forgive me for posting this David but I’ve made a compilation of some clips of molly from youtube. I know you dislike links but here goes

  4. One of my earliest memories is of Molly on Countdown (I’m 38)……

He’s just always been there – I agree with Sheba Percy – he is like an Uncle!

My two fav memories of Molly are getting kissed by Boy George on live TV in the 80’s (Molly tried to look scandalised – but really they were close friends and still are) and of Iggy Pop (possibly high or manic – or both) repeatedly calling Molly “Dog Face” while co-presenting Countdown in early 80’s – hysterically funny.

    All the best Molly xxx

  5. If he was to go now Australia would be a collective mess, he is Australia’s favourite Uncle and such a beacon of light.
love and golden healing light to precious Molly.

  6. And so say all of us. Molly is a legend and I know he will pull through as he is a fighter and has a determined spirit that will never fade.

    Good on you Molly!
