WIN switches back to Nine logo

WIN has now returned to the Nine logo in Perth and Adelaide.

It’s a case, seemingly, of as you were….

WIN has now returned to the Nine logo in Perth and Adelaide following a few days of broadcasting a “red Nine” for its local News bulletins.

Difficult to know what that was really all about.

Nothing to see here.

Move along.

  1. Bruce doesnt know what he wants…he owns a affiliate to channel 9…he is a major shareholder of 10…rumours are he wants to buy the sinking ship of 9… Bruce is just making changes all over the shop…and yeh widen your studio news shot its way to tight….. i think the news studio shot is the tightest in the world…when the trend world wide is two show more of the newsreader…. just shows the old man is out of touch…

  2. Has anyone else ever noted that the map of Australia on the WIN logo isn’t even standing upright? It leans down on the left. Not a mistake you want to make on a logo.

  3. So Bruce Gorden was the guy that made the call for the close ups? What was he thinking? I cant watch WIN news anymore partly because its just too confronting to see them so close. I thought it was just because they were broadcasting from a closet now.

  4. @JiohnTV, @Ann, @Armchair Director – Inside goss suggests you are correct.
@SEDI – This is the WIN Network, not the Nine Network. There’s another WIN logo used as a watermark, ‘though far too big and bright. A map of Aust. with WIN in the centre.

  5. I think you’ll find it’s all connected to Bruce Gordon being in Australia.

All the regional WIN bulletins had an uncomfortable close up shot of their newsreaders too, a request he made some time ago apparently.

  6. I bet Affiliate Fee negotiations are going on. WIN always does something when the fee and contracts are being discussed to just remind Nine that they are an affiliate and not part of the Nine Network.

  7. Seems odd – clearly they were trying ‘something’ but what? Seems like a very dumb move, shows that not even the network has confidence in something as simple as their logo.
