The fact that there’s only one category for tv comedy performance kinda says it all about the state of scripted comedy in this country…
Hoping Don and Asher win best actor and actress, they are brilliant.
@ Frankie This is a good point. Although Rake’s storylines continued over the 8 eps – they must have been considered stand-alone episodes.
Chris Lilley will be pleased, as he has no chance of winning a Logie 🙁
Isn’t Rake from 2010? And Why is Rake classed as drama with 8 eps yet The Slap classed as a short run drama or mini series also at 8 eps?
Looking forward to the new-look awards. There are so many categories that I think this will run way overtime. By the way, that photo of the Opera House is beautiful.
Very happy with the win for SAS – The Search for Warriors!
I’ve got my fingers crossed for Offspring, Paper Giants, Rob Carlton/Alex Dimitriades, Asher Keddie, Aaron Fa’aosp and Rena Owen.
I still think it’s a shame that Lawrence Leung’s Unbelievable wasn’t nominated for Best Light Entertainment! It’s better than half the shows nominated… Hopefully the Logies nominates it for their outstanding award, despite it’s absence in the popular categories.
@Ronnie, completely agree. Composers should be recognised for their work.
Long live the anti-Logies!
You’ve omitted the most popular categories…by choice?
I find it comical that this is being shown on Channel 9 yet the commercial stations are well and truly under represented.
It’s a nice bit of free PR for the ABC. Good work guys.
The only award missing is for achievement in musical score or composer for television. I am going to campaign to get it back! Music can add so much it should not be excluded from the AACTAs. This is an oversight which should be addressed.
lets play spot the commercial channel
Laid? At home with Julia waz robbed (imho). Also, go Hugo Weaving.
Wow! This really is the anti-Logies, isn’t it? So many quality shows and actors nominated. Love it! Can’t wait to see the awards ceremony.
