43 countries have applied to take part in the 57th Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan this May.

  1. @alastair When was the last time you watched? I would not make statements on a voting system that has already been changed, since the introduction of the split Jury/Televoting in 2009 the UK (not England) has reached the top 11 twice. 5th in 2009 and 11th in 2011.

  2. @Vanessa
    true its not the same
i do like the SBS team they send, but id love to hear the BBC commentator Graham Norton for the Grand Final, when will FTA move into the 21st C and get the foxtel Red button so we could choose commentary, that’d be awesome, or even turn it off. So much fuss made over FreeView, EPG inbuilt in ur tv, live pause, recording, +20mins option, and it jsut seemed to stall and revert back to normal, i guess its wat you pay for in the end for Foxtel.
OMG sry i just went on a rant, eep.

  3. I can’t see the point of England being in the comp. They can be The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, ABBA and The Eagles rolled into one and they’d still come near last.
Such a floored voting system, still…..enjoyable to watch.

  4. I agree with Nick … Eurovision is the blood that moves my body.

And hopefully this year will be as good as last year. Every single song in the final (except Moldova’s terrible So Lucky) was brilliant and I play the CD almost daily.
