Dexter fans will finally get to see Season 5 on Free to Air.

This is the series that picks up after the murder of Rita by the Trinity Killer (John Lithgow).

Featuring in this season are Julia Stiles and Jonny Lee Miller.

It will screen from 9:30pm Tuesday January 24 on ELEVEN, after American Horror Story concludes.

“My Bad”
Dexter faces the repercussions of Rita’s murder and contemplates running from all of it. Meanwhile, Astor and Cody return from Disney World to the news of their mother’s death.

Season Six is currently playing on Showcase.

  4. in spite of what others have said the 5th season is actually not that bad. And those last thirty seconds of the 6th season was a complete shocker. Can’t wait for the next season.

  5. Season five was a bit crap, but it followed the brilliance of John Lithgow and season 4, so that just makes it seem worse.

    Those who gave up on Dexter because of season five … give season six a go! It can’t top season four (pure gold), but it comes damn close — especially the last few episodes 🙂

    … and the fact they refer to a lot of the earlier seasons throughout season six, but seem to ignore season five – well, that says a lot!

  6. No point, Dexter is dead, season 5 was bad, season 6 was disgustingly and laughably awful. Just what Showtime do to all their shows, make them go longer than the premise can support.

  8. To those who think Eleven are slow in airing this just need to understand that Eleven do not have first run rights for Dexter. They can only replay a series after it has aired on Showcase and they have to wait 12months before they can replay the series. So they just havent been sitting on this show for the last 15mths.

  13. Well I’m Thrilled about this! I had the season 1-3 box set. Then watched S4 on 11 last year. I have some Foxtel channels but not the one with Dexter on it. I’m happy it’s finally on FTA and am looking forward to it. He’s such a spunky monkey that Dex.

  16. Ridiculously late, season six has already aired in the States.

    IMO season five was the best season they’ve had to date next to season four. The addition of Lumen’s character was great for the show and I thought Jonny Lee Miller made a great antagonist

  17. Good news.

    Dexter is one of the few shows which I’m willing to wait for Ten/Eleven to screen, even though it inevitably means being spoiled about most of the future plot developments, including the recent events of the season 6 finale!
