Returning: Misfits

"New Guy. New Powers. Same Misfits" for Season Three of the UK's reluctant superheroes.

“New Guy. New Powers. Same Misfits” claims the tagline, for Season Three of the UK’s reluctant superheroes.

Joining the series is actor Joseph Gilgun as ‘Rudy’ following the departure of Robert Sheehan as ‘Nathan.’

Returning are Lauren Socha, Nathan Stewart Jarrett, Antonia Thomas, Iwan Rheon.

At least the wait hasn’t been quite as long this time. A fourth series has been approved but with further cast departures.

Misfits returns with new powers and a new kid on the block, but things certainly haven’t got any quieter for the gang.

New recruit Rudy is learning fast that probation Misfits-style involves not much community service, lots of running around, fighting baddies and disposing of bodies. But that really is the least of his worries. More pressing is just how to keep his secret superpower, well, secret.

Meanwhile, the rest of the gang are trying to adapt to life with their new superpowers. But just how did the trade-off with Seth, the superpower dealer, go down?

With zombies on the loose, body-swap confusion, ghostly haunting from the past and Simon trying to fulfil his destiny to become Superhoodie, things haven’t become any quieter for these five superheroes.

8:30pm Friday February 3rd ABC2.

  1. From memory the premiere wasn’t much but the series quickly got back on track – and the Nazi episode was probably the best hour of drama I watched last year.

Only thing I didn’t like was switching the powers – seemed a bit pointless and most weren’t as entertaining as the original. Indeed I couldn’t really tell you who had what from this series.

  2. wait.. what.. did i missthe episode where nathan left? i thought i watched all the episodes on ABC2.. okay, am off to, umm, ‘buy’ the episodes i missed…

  3. I didn’t miss Nathan at all this season, Rudy is the perfect replacement for him. Rudy might have a couple of Nathan’s characteristics but he, to me, is way more likeable.

I do agree with JB in thinking that next season may be the last, unfortunately.

  4. This season just wasn’t the same without Nathan. And with Rudy it just seems like they wrote Nathan’s part but then changed the characters name. And can’t say which leave because of spoilers, but I think next season might be the last. Won’t be the same with half the original cast gone.

  5. Great! The new guy lacks Nathan’s uncouth good intentions but the Simon/Alisha love story is a winner, as is Curtis’ gender bending antics. Thanks for the heads up.

  6. Misfits series three was awesome! This is probably my favourite TV series airing at the moment. Highly recommend getting into it if you haven’t seen it yet.
