Seven will telecast Black Caviar’s attempt at history Live this Saturday afternoon.

The horse will attempt to win her 19th consecutive race at the Coolmore Lightning Stakes. Should Black Caviar triumph she will equal the Australasian record of 19 straight metropolitan wins, held jointly by Gloaming and Desert Gold.

Regular programming will be interrupted at about 4.05pm AEDT to cross Live to Flemington, with the race listed to start at 4.10pm AEDT.

Seven’s Head of Sport, Saul Shtein, said: “Black Caviar is racing into history, and we want to give sports fans around the country the chance to say they watched her do it.

“As we showed during the Australian Open – when we cut from the tennis to Black Caviar winning her 17th straight race at Moonee Valley – we’re committed to bringing viewers the best in live sport on free-to-air TV, wherever and whenever we can.”

The broadcast will be hosted by Michael Felgate from Seven News.

The Lightning Stakes is Australia’s only 1000m Group 1 race and is the opening leg of the Global Sprint Challenge. S
