Game of Thrones: new trailer

I'm going to have to put a lid on my enthusiasm for the next season of Game of Thrones.

Methinks I’m going to have to put a lid on my enthusiasm for the next season of Game of Thrones, to avoid driving everyone crazy.

But there’s a new trailer in town…

Starts April on Showcase.

  1. When I first heard about this show and saw it was set in Medieval times, it kind of put me off. But then Foxtel offered the first episode free “On Demand” I watched it and after the first scene was completely hooked. Loved every minute of season 1 and I cannot wait for season 2 to start!

  2. I don’t get the idea that GoT “took a few episodes to take hold”. From the first scene in the snowy forest where the party on horseback are attacked by the invisible horror GoT had me by the throat, and it never let go.

I don’t normally like fantasy, particularly epic fantasy, but GoT shows that in the right hands even its well worn tropes have an amazing vitality. The fact that it’s a TV series and yet still so good is incredible, unprecedented in fact. Of course it’s so expensive to make that as soon as its ratings drop even a little it’ll be cancelled, but at least we’ll know that it’s not impossible to do the genre properly on TV after all, just really difficult and expensive.

  3. I still haven’t seen any apart from the two first episodes. Love the books though and do have the blu-ray set of the first series on order.

Wish one of the free to air channels could have picked this up.

  4. David, I have read (here at TV Tonight) and listened (to many Podcasts) of your ‘enthusiasm’ when it comes to Games of Thrones…

I personally cannot get a grasp of why you think it is so good… I tuned out at Episode 2 of Season 1. I have a love for ‘Revenge’ and you in return for ‘Games of Thrones’.

It’s great that we all have different views when it comes to what we watch. Having said that, tell me why I should stick with ‘Games of Thrones’ because I do have a respect of your judgement.

    1. Yes GoT took a few episodes to take hold, but the acting, scenery, plotting, scale were amazing. I don’t remember another show that built up to cliffhanger scenes week after week like this one. I guess I will try Revenge ep 4….
