Stick with Revenge. I’ve watched most of the series and each week leaves you with a Wow thing happening.
The first episode does introduce so many new characters and looking back at it it was probably overwhelming but it all fits in eventually.
I don’t know what they rate as best ever tv shows nowadays but I really enjoyed it and just watch and see, every episode makes you want more. It was just nice to get caught up in a whole different world.

  2. Adam February 14, 2012 at 5:36 pm -

I don’t know what channel 10 were thinking when they chose to air NCIS:LA.. it’s never done well over here. Am I the only one who didn’t enjoy Revenge?

  3. Jetter February 14, 2012 at 2:29 pm -

I lovedddd revenge, great show but I did find it hard to understand what was going on and who the characters were a bit. I also loved sunday’s ep of New girl, really funny.

Furthermore, revenge’s premiere of 2mill did actually shock me because yes, even though past dramas have reached 2 mill, that was ages ago 2005/6, this is 2012, where we have other multi channels and so 2 mill is actually a very big achievement and seven should be proud of their marketing techniques with the show. I wanna convert to a seven fan, but i’m still a Ten person even though they suck.

  4. Jarred February 14, 2012 at 2:06 pm -

As soon as I told my family that the producer who made Lost (JJ Abrams) is working on Alcatraz, they almost immediately switched off. The show has the same sort of music, confusing storylines, general vibe and the fact that their are more questions than answers. I think it will have the same decreasing audience as Lost did to the point where basically no one was watching and everyone was ‘Lost’.

  5. Maev....Sydney February 14, 2012 at 1:25 pm -

Revenge…not the kind of show I normally would watch….but I was hooked right from the start…just loving it….
I think Nine was trying to belt the opposition over the head in hopes of winning…with 2xAlcatraz and 3xTBBT

  6. ryan February 14, 2012 at 12:53 pm -

LOL @Ten! That’s what you get when you move your shows around! Thought you would have learnt from 2011 failure.
Bondi rescue like ncis l.a should never have left tuesdays!

  7. DeeCee February 14, 2012 at 12:48 pm -

I see Revenge staying at or above MKR.

I knew Revenge would do well and could easily do 2m plus but everyone told me I was dreaming. It’s a brilliant start and Daniel the show won’t drop off that much. The show is brilliant and when you hit the middle of the season it just keeps getting better. It’s a fantastic result for Seven. Alcatraz did well enough too but the show isn’t that good. See if a show is any good and marketed correctly then you have a hit on your hands. Ten bombed and that’s what happens when you have nothing.

  9. Ranco February 14, 2012 at 11:14 am -

I don’t think anybody expected 2mil for revenge

  10. steve sydney February 14, 2012 at 11:04 am -

Very impressive.. but we’ve seen these numbers before. Ugly Betty…Heroes… let’s check the numbers for Revenge come March.

I’m excited to see what Once Upon a Time can bring..

  11. JB February 14, 2012 at 10:58 am -

@Daniel, why would the numbers drop considerably over the coming weeks? There’s been nothing but positive word for Revenge, which might get more viewers, and the show just gets better and better.
I expect Alcatraz ratings to go down, and then Nine to replace it with Big Bang in 3 weeks.

  12. Xander February 14, 2012 at 10:41 am -

Hang on—am I reading this wrong, or did channel 9 really play 3 episodes of TBBT last night?! What keeps people watching that channel, years of inertia??…

  13. MuchoTB February 14, 2012 at 10:12 am -

Then again…those demos are very impressive…

  14. MuchoTB February 14, 2012 at 10:11 am -

Two million people watched Revenge last night? Wow. I was expecting 1.5 mill for the premiere

I expect it will stabilise around 1.1-1.3 million, there’s no way it will sustain those figures. But it’s a great show

  15. catherine February 14, 2012 at 10:04 am -

Wow Revenge looks like its going to be a great show. Interesting to see how the numbers back up next week. But i found it gripping, enthralling and very good. I mainly chose to watch it because the storyline looked good but it also featured Rebecca from Brothers & Sisters who is a great actress. The guys in it look pretty good as well.

Do ch9 think its pre internet days and wouldnt be able to find out if there really was a big bang wedding. Of course we knew it wasnt real.

Aso well done on the MKR boys for scoring so well. There food looked great.

  16. The_Flash February 14, 2012 at 10:01 am -

Hint to channel 9 cricket commentators, pls, do what you do best and comment on the cricket, not up coming shows like Alcatraz or the new series of TBBT – both of which they have done ,constantly, over the top the past couple of months.
Prob not the reason why revenge on 7 beat Alcatraz last night, but surely didn’t help either- I know it made my mind up on not watching the show!

  17. Kenny February 14, 2012 at 9:56 am -

Didn’t bother recording Alcatraz. No doubt Nine will encore/repeat/rerun it in the next few days.
TEN 4th behind ABC1. Anyone told them it’s “ratings time”?
Interesting 7 News Sydney back in front of 9 News now that the cricket’s finished. What was that about “lead-ins don’t matter” Peter Meakin?

  18. Daniel February 14, 2012 at 9:55 am -

How did Excess Baggage go on GO! Obviously below 162, 000 as it wasn’t in the top 20 digital channels?

It was doomed from the start by choosing to go against the Biggest Loser.

  19. Daniel February 14, 2012 at 9:52 am -

Wow mega ratings for Revenge. When was the last time a US based drama or show rated over 2 million in Australia? Seven did well, although the strong lead-in of My Kitchen Rules and maybe even the use of Coldplay’s Paradise during the ads surely gave Revenge a helping hand. Expect those numbers to drop considerably over the coming weeks…

  20. michaelOz February 14, 2012 at 9:49 am -

More proof that the marketing department at 7 is the best in the country.
They could advertise “How to Watch Paint Dry” and the masses would tune in.

    Great work.

  21. DeeCee February 14, 2012 at 9:41 am -

Big numbers for Revenge. Revenge increased viewers from it’s lead in while Alcatraz clearly lost viewers over it’s 2 hour broadcast.
