EXCLUSIVE: A new line-up of children’s general entertainment is coming to Seven’s digital channels.
Starting on Monday March 5th, Seven will offer children’s programming five days a week from 6.30am-9.00am, cleverly dividing programmes for girls on 7TWO and for boys on 7mate.
The 7TWO block will be branded ‘Total Girl’ with episodes of Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, Jonas LA, Sonny With a Chance, Good Luck Charlie, Shake it Up and The Fairies.
7mate will be branded as ‘K-Zone’ with animated and live-action hits such as Handy Manny, Stitch, Kick Buttowski, Phineas and Ferb, Pair of Kings, Zeke Luther and I’m in the Band.
Very cute idea…

I find a lot of today’s cartoons are awful. Horrible figures. What ever happened to Duck Tales, Mickey Mouse and company, Huckleberry Hound, Yogi Bear, Speedy Gonzalez etc. I have seen Scooby Doo a few times and The Flintstones but nothing much else. I wish there was a channel just for kids up to 12 years with science shows, animal shows, cartoons, old style television shows ( Little House on the Prarie, Family Affair, Benson, Different Strokes etc), and Christian type shows like Touch By An Angel. I feel a lot more old fashion values needs to be brought back into our lives.
Only half that content is actually been shown, due to double episodes, according to latest advanced TV guides.
All the series are repeats too, so looks like two more worthless block of childrens programming at this point.
thanks for that !
The morning soaps on 7Two remain, however they get a timeslot change effective 5th March.
9.00am Home and Away – The Early Years
9.30am Sons and Daughters
10.00am Coronation Street
10.30am Shortland Street
Agree Rayne ,thank heavens for the PVR ,i think the cartoon should be on one channel only ; and more Disney stuff
So we have a choice between kids shows and 4 morning breakfast shows on All these channels…wow I’m so happy Not. Once I’ve seen about an hour of breakfast tv I’m all caught up on news etc and an alternative would be nice. Oh well thank god for recordings…..
Getting the sexism in early I see.
Excellent! Smart move by 7 to enable the kids to watch their cartoons while the grown-ups watch Sunrise over on digital channel 7.
Are these magazines part of the Seven Media Group?
i think this is a great idea! Although, i wonder how long it will be before Saturday Disney also migrates to the multichannels.
No one has noticed yet that ‘Total Girl’ and ‘K-Zone’ are actually tween kids magazines?
As long as home and away the early years continues I will be happy
So does that mean they’re ditching the soapies…yet again? If kids wanted to watch cartoons, there is abc2/abc3
7two, you’ve lost me as a viewer
I thought 7mate was meant to be a guys channel, kiddy cartoons are a bad idea but an interesting one though.
Does this mean those kids shows will now only be on those multichannels and no longer on the main channel ?
This wouldn’t have anything to do with Ten moving their kids shows to 11 ?
Good thinking, makes sense now there is very little childrens programming in that time slot these days.
Far too many tween series, and a real lack of variety, in those two blocks. The cartoon series would be repeats, expect maybe Kick Buttowski and Stitch, which are already been shown on weekends.
I was hoping to see more new cartoon series from Disney. Like Famous 5: On the Case and Monster Buster Club. Disney don’t make many cartoon series anymore, but we are lucky to see them on Seven.
Total Girl shows look good and I am a guy, and I am 25 lol. K-Zone shows are boring. I hope 7TWO leave Home And Away The Early Years at 9:00-9:30 or even better show two episodes a day 9:00-10:00.
Clearly capitalising on the glut of breakfast television shows on 4 other channels at that time. A very clever idea.
what will happen to sons and daughters, corry street and shortland street ??? on 7TWO
it is a good idea, but it means Martha Stewart is out again.Hopefully this may mean reverting back to cooking shows in tin afternoon.
