Rumour: TEN to renovate The Living Room

By David Knox on February 16, 2012 / Filed Under News 6

TV Tonight is hearing whispers that TEN has plans for a new Friday night Lifestyle show called The Living Room.

The network recently called for homeowners in desperate need of renovating advice and help.

“Tell us your renovation budget and we’ll add our design expertise, manpower and materials to help you get the biggest bang for your buck,” says the TEN website.

The call-out is believed to be for a regular segment which will be included in a weekly Lifestyle show.

TEN is understood to be keen on a weekly Friday night show, given that Better Homes and Gardens will move to Thursdays in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth when the AFL begins.

The move could also help address ailing Friday night figures for TEN, which is constantly battling its younger audiences being out at that time.

The genre is also lucrative in attracting advertisers, and TEN could even offer a new programme to clients who advertised in The Renovators.

Great decision if this is correct! This is what Ten has needed to yrs on a friday. They just have to get it right and have the perfect people to host the segments. Dr chris could do an animal segment

Why bother? You know that Better Homes And Gardens will attract all the viewers…another flop coming right up!!!

Well TEN’s problem has always been there is no flag ship programming on Friday and Saturday nights. Now they’ve got GN on Saturdays…. this leaves something to be done on Friday. This hopefully is the answer.

Good luck but screw it up with pointless white room challenges..

Will they be screening it sandwiched between two episodes of Masterchef?

I don’t think any advertisers that paid good money to advertise in The Renovators will make that mistake again.
