In each episode of this new series, Heston takes one key ingredient commonly used at home such as beef, chocolate, eggs, chicken, cheese and potatoes. He challenges the way it is usually or traditionally cooked and reveals his scientifically researched approach to deliver dishes that are deliciously full of flavour.

By featuring one ingredient at a time and focusing on techniques rather than recipes, Heston aims to impart with the knowledge of not just how to do things but why; and builds a compendium of information across each episode which will change the way home cooking is undertaken.

Viewers are invited on a journey of intrigue with Heston as he creates magical, theatrical recipes using not professional kitchen equipment, but props available to everyone such as computer keyboard cleaners, syringes, wood chips and dry ice.
