It was based on an Israeli series and now Homeland will film part of its second season there.

But a Showtime spokeswoman said that most of the second season will again be shot in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Small parts of the first season were also shot in Israel.

Showtime says the show is its highest-rated new drama series ever.

Meanwhile Damian Lewis was on the guest list for dinner at the White House honouring British Prime Minister David Cameron. President Obama is known to be a big fan of the show.

The British actor told the BBC that he and his wife, actress Helen McCrory, were planning to “fly to Washington, have dinner, fly back.”

  1. @nrc_02 – yes of course they know they are sold to other markets, but they make them for their own market. It’s like saying Adam Hills IGST shouldn’t talk about what happened on Neighbours this week in case someone from the UK happens to be watching the show.

  2. @ Belinda I’ve been getting done by spoilers on international talk shows lately. Desperate Housewives on the View and The Walking Dead on Letterman the other night, very annoying dont they realise their shows are sold to international markets?

  3. It will be so interesting to see what they will try to do in a second series.

Damian Lewis is a guest on this week’s Graham Norton Show, so those who have not seen the finale should watch out for spoilers.
