Johnny Ruffo joins Dancing with the Stars

Seven has now confirmed the first four contestants for Dancing with the Stars.

Seven has now confirmed the first four contestants for Dancing with the Stars.

They are Kerri-Anne Kennerley, former AFL footballer Brendan Fevola, DJ Vogue Williams and X Factor finalist Johnny Ruffo.

Ruffo, a former concreter turned singer, showed his dance skills on X Factor and should prove competitive. Vogue Williams is currently engaged to Australia’s Got Talent judge Brian McFadden, while Fevola usually attracts attention for all the wrong reasons.

Host Daniel MacPherson will be joined by Mel B as a co-host this year.

The show is expected to premiere after Easter.

  1. @ synchronicity. Agree with you there. however most of the males wont be that good looking maybe a few will but interms of eye candy for the male viewers then i think Mel B fits in quite well as the Co Host. Therefore both sexes can ogle at each other.

  2. @ Travis I also heard that an IronMan is going to be in this years series, which should provide plenty of eye candy for the ladies 🙂

  3. Jessica Watson is a good choice, but she is only young so I hope they are not too hard on her. Surprised that Mrs Russell Crowe would agree to appear on this – does she have an album coming out? Brian Mannix, that is just flat-out weird. Not fussed at all about the male talent in this line-up, it’s awful. At least the females are marginally more interesting.

  4. I heard Jessica Watson was confirmed too. The last I read, the lineup was:

Confirmed cast for 2012 in todays Melbourne Herald Sun are:

    Kerri Ann Kennerley
    Shannon Noll

    Vogue Williams
    Jessica Watson
    Brian Mannix

  5. So DWTS is entering the X-Factor ‘talent’ pool, im guessing Australia’s Got Talent will be next…. They should have enough *cough* celebrity’s *cough* for the next 55 seasons…

  6. No no no.. this show should re-named as “Dancing with Anyone who’s ever appeared in NW magazine”

.. have they run out of Home and Away hunks to display and that’s why they’ve brought out this runner up talent show contestant?

  7. this is awesome!!

I have never watched DWTS ever, and have avoided it like the plague, but the casting of Mel B as a host and Johnny as a contestant has me interested.

I’ll probably only watch his dance scenes on youtube and skip the rest of the 2 hr+ show. But smart move Seven on casting this guy, they’ll collect some younger viewers for sure. He was very popular on The X Factor last year

  8. I can think of worse ways to pass the time, watching the way too cute Johnny Ruffo glide around the dance floor. He is a hearthrob for sure.
Never heard of Vogue Williams. KAK will be a familiar face at least.

  9. @ lulu – that’s because they are running out of “stars”…not that there were ever any “stars” to start off with anyway…..

    @deedeedragons – LMAO !!! lol!!!

  10. I have never ever heard of this guy before, are they scraping the barrel by getting a contestant from another one of their own shows in and now calling them a celeb? Plus, never heard of DJ Vogue Williams either. I think for half of these people, it should be Dancing with the Wannabee’s (no pun intened with mel b)

  11. David I like the way you say Vogue Williams is “currently” engaged to Brian McFadden.
I guess with McFadden’s track record we know this won’t last.

Could anyone recognise this Vogue Williams or Johnny Ruffo if they fell over them in the street ?
Seven really are struggling for stars. My barber might be a chance for the next series.
