A sick bucket and Ryan Seacrest turn up for Idol

He's never missed a show in 11 seasons and a sick Ryan Seacrest battles on for American Idol.

He’s never missed a show in 11 seasons and although he is as sick as a dog there was no way Ryan Seacrest was going to miss today’s live American Idol show.

TMZ was speculating that producers were scrambling for a host after producer Nigel Lythgoe stood in at rehearsals.

But Seacrest is there, complete with a sick bucket off stage (not a comment on the performers) as the show rolls out a Queen tribute episode.

Reports note that Randy Jackson was asking, “Are you all right? Are you all right?” while an assistant was icing his neck as judge Jennifer Lopez fanned him with her notebook.

Now we can all get some sleep.

The episode airs tonight on FOX8.

  1. I wouldn’t have thought anything untoward was going on with him on last night’s show. I did think the previous week when Dick Clark’s death affected him, it was actually nice to see Ryan showing some genuine emotion on his face – as soon as he descended the stairs on the intro – he was wearing his grief. Otherwise he only ever shows us the one dimensional host.

  2. I think I may have jinx Ryan, a couple of weeks ago I made the comment to a friend I don’t know where Ryan gets the energy as he has so many business/projects on the go.

I also think maybe the loss of his friend and mentor Dick Clarke took a bit of a toll on him as well as Dick’s family of course.
