Ex-contestants re-enter The Biggest Loser

Three former contestants re-entered The Biggest Loser competition, in one of the genre's oldest twists in the book.

Five became eight last night as three former contestants re-entered The Biggest Loser competition, in one of the genre’s oldest twists in the book.

Bek, Brenda and Lydia have joined the chase for the prize, following secret training with Shannan Ponton.

Hamish, Shane and Ryan missed out on a chance to re-enter the game as contestants competed for a chance to return to the weight-loss show.

“I’m really excited to have this opportunity to be back into the game and the chance to be the Biggest Loser!” said Bek.

Lisa and Simon, who both lucked out, also found some positives.

“I came into The Biggest Loser house just hoping to survive the first week, now I’m walking away fitter, stronger, happier and with a wonderful friend. Simon is definitely someone I could spend the rest of my life with.”

Simon added, “I didn’t think I’d walk out of here with a potential soul mate, it was the last thing on my mind. My main focus was the promise that I made to my family that I wouldn’t let them down. So to come out of the end of this with a magnificent bonus (Lisa), how can you not be happy?”

The show has been rating well for TEN, frequently the network’s top show for the evening.

Corrected.

I know that they do it every year, as I said Emma left and came back and ended up winning last year.
The only reason the eliminated contestants were going great guns was because they wanted to get back into the compition.
They have had their turn in the house and they got voted out because; they weren’t liked in the house or didn’t do enough or loose enough weight.
I would be happier if only 1 returned because the show seems to be going on and on now.
And your right, they do seem surprised every year that some are going to return. 🙂

  2. @Fitzah – the same thing happens every year. It’s not like it’s a surprise (though why the contestents are constantly surprised it happens defies logic). And those guys were voted out – the ones that are in the house haven’t necessarily put in the hard yards; they’ve just been lucky to be the one not chosen to leave. There’s nothing fair or unfair about it.

  3. I don’t like it how they come back into the compition. They have had their turn, the people still in the house are there because they have been putting in the hard yards and deserve their spot there. The same thing happened last year and Emma (eliminated contestant who came back in) won, to me that’s unfair.
