Flintstones remake delayed

Just a day after TEN CEO James Warburton spruiked upcoming FOX shows for the network, including a reboot of The Flintstones, FOX has put the series on hold.

The animated project from Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane will be delayed, with no word on when production will resume, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The project has been put on hold to accommodate MacFarlane’s busy schedule.

MacFarlane currently oversees Family Guy, American Dad and The Cleveland Show.

He is also working on work on Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey, a 13-part documentary for FOX and a film Ted is to be released in July.

MacFarlane previously said of his Flintstones reboot that very little of the original would need updating.

“Fred skipping out on the opera to go to the lodge is something that probably would need to be a little fresher in 2011,” he said.

Yesterday James Warburton told media buyers TEN had several new FOX shows coming, including the Flintstones remake.

It was due to premiere in 2013.

Good hopefully they won’t remake it at all it would be a real shame to destroy a classic like the flintstones by remaking it
