It caused outrage (according to A Current Affair) when it was on SBS, and a stage play has appeared in Sydney and Perth.
But now cult comedy Housos with Shazza, Dazza, and the good folk from Sunnyvale Housing Commission could become a movie.
TV Tonight hears enterprising creator Paul Fenech is raising the funding for a low budget big screen feature of Housos. Earlier this month the project was looking for unpaid extras to appear in the film.
This week the official Housos Facebook page said, WANNA HELP US MAKE HOUSOS? we still need houses to film in and buisness to film in, we need HOT cars..(fully sick airbrushed MaCHines) we need shitkickers to help out! SYDNEY ONLY.. send email 2 [email protected] – NO MORE EXTRAS NEEDED we were swamped with bogans f*** there’s a lot out there!”
At this stage there are no plans for a second season with SBS.
Or with A Current Affair.
