Kids’ Choice Awards (US): winners

Halle Berry, Taylor Lautner, Justin Bieber and Chris Colfer were slimed at the US Kids’ Choice Awards

There was slime, a giant blimp, a silver robot, sword swallower and stars galore at Nickelodeon’s 25th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards in LA on the weekend.

Host Will Smith made an aerial entrance onto the venue by parachuting down from a 246-foot orange airship above the arena.

Slime victims included Halle Berry, Taylor Lautner, Justin Bieber, Heidi Klum and Chris Colfer. First Lady Michelle Obama got off slime-free (that would have been a headline!). Performers included Katy Perry and One Direction.

Amongst the winners were Adam Sandler, Kristen Stewart, Katy Perry, Selena Gomez, Big Time Rush and Justin Bieber.

In a first for the awards a Favourite Aussie Superstar blimp, as voted by Aussie kids, was awarded on stage to Cody Simpson, presented by Nickelodeon’s Luke and Wyatt. Simpson beat Miranda Kerr, Hugh Jackman and Chris Hemsworth for the prize.

“It is such an honour to have won this award tonight, l can’t believe l’ve won three Nick blimps in five years. This also goes to my fellow nominees, who have been some of Australia’s biggest icons since I was a kid,” said Simpson.
