Could Paul Henry become the next host for Can of Worms?
It would be a casting that benefits TEN, by giving the Breakfast host a primetime slot.
Henry may be controversial and divisive, but he’s not shy on opinions and smarts -both of which are part of CoW‘s DNA.
The Herald Sun speculates that he is the front-runner for the role, following Dicko’s self-appointed exit last year.
“Given Paul’s news background, he would certainly make a good host. However, we have yet to land on a decision for the next season of CoW,” a Network TEN spokesperson said yesterday.
TV Tonight understands Henry is yet to screen-test for the series, but that is about to be rectified imminently.

He would be great in Can of Worms or Beauty and the Beast, I wish people would give him a chance, Breakfast is funny and I like it, they don’t waffle on with competitions and things like the other morning shows. Just because he’s a kiwi stop hating him and no, I don’t work for channel ten and I’m not a kiwi, just a regular viewer prepared to give someone new a go.
There is just no connection with aussie viewers.find him boring.paul henry does not fit does not jel with aussie viewers .he needs to go. Ten do us all a favour and find an aussie to replace him on breakfast.
Don’t mind Breakfast, but Henry’s interviews are all about him. He butts in too much. He should learn to shut up and let the person answer the question he asked. Can’t see him being a good host for Can of Worms at all. Having said that, he’s quite funny at times – liked his IKEA Family piece the other day.
Actually tmorgan96, I have watched this guy. I’m unsure how you came to the conclusion that I hadn’t.
The guy is unwatchable and a bad fit for Ten, or at least the Ten I used to recognise. Lachlan and Gina’s political interference has sent the network in a very bad direction
@Daniel is obviously on the payroll at Ten.
This Henry guy has been a turkey from day one – and always will be.
He fits the Ten mould perfectly!
GG: Daniel is perfectly entitled to be a fan of any performer or show without his opinion being dismissed. TV Tonight welcomes robust debate, and reminds all readers to be respectful of the opinions of others.
Surely would be better suited for a revival of Beauty and the Beast?
A lot of Henry Haters out there. Personally I’m a fan of his work on Breakfast – he can conduct great hard-hitting interviews, but also make us laugh at the same time. If you haven’t watched Breakfast, give it a go. It’s funny and unpredictable, as can be seen in this funny clip featuring Shaun Micallef…

Henry will be perfect for Can of Worms. Him and Meshel Laurie will be a great combo together. Stop bagging him just because he is Kiwi!
I’m confused, do Ten not want viewers???
Only if it’s part of his already overpaid salary. Can you imagine paying him more to do this show too? joke.
Sigh. Most of the comments from below who bash PH haven’t ever watched him. He’s quick, smart and witty. He’d be perfect for Can of Worms.
Bring it on.
If this guy hosts can or worms i won’t be watching anymore!
Well if this happens I won’t be watching go back to NZ Paul we don’t want you hear
I won’t be watching it either if this is true. Dicko might have a reputation for being controversial but he didn’t have an overt political agenda like this guy. First the Bolt Report, now this. Maybe Channel Ten could just cut the crap and give Clive Palmer or Gina Rinehart the hosting duties already.
Yeah, this guy is doing great stuff for Ten’s Breakfast. What a recruit! /end sarcasm.
If Paul Henry becomes the host for Can of Worms
I won’t be watching it.
Am I the only one enjoying Breakfast? I’m just sick of the endless Sunrise and Today viewer competitions taking up most of the show..
