The Herald Sun reports Frontier Touring Co. boss Michael Gudinski will induct Ian “Molly” Meldrum into the Logies Hall of Fame on Sunday.

Meldrum will not attend the event, according to the newspaper, but continues to recover at home after his fall last December.

The honour is sure to be widely supported by industry with Meldrum’s contribution to television and music stemming back to the 1970s. His appearances on Countdown and Hey Hey it’s Saturday are legendary.

Both Seven and Foxtel were reported to have submitted Meldrum’s name for the honour to Logies organisers.

Meldrum is believed to have headed out to the movies on Saturday with two friends by his side.

I’m happy that Molly is to be inducted, but very sad that he won’t be able to attend :(

Great news – a worthy and popular choice – shame he won’t be well enough to accept in person.
