Shame Offspring was down at least 200,000 viewers – it often rated in the high 900,000′s last season. It is the best drama on tv – local or international. I love the mix of the serious and the funny in the writing. Beautifully realised and acted. It is one show i get really excited waiting for! I hope it climbs back up.
I think Celebrity Apprentice and The Block are Good shows but they both may suffer from reality tv overload. We have had MKR, then The Biggest loser, AGT The Voice,CA and The Block. as a viewer you cannot watch them all. There are 5 currently running and all take a lot of our time up.It is doing our heads in that they don’t start and finish on time too. By the time Big Brother and masterchef start we will all of had our dose of Reality tv.
I wouldn’t say The Block is dropping off just yet. It is doing comparable figures to the same week last season, and is likely to build as the season progresses. The Sunday night room reveals were massive raters last year, and it is #1 in all three demos.
It will be interesting to see if AGT will keep its audience against The Voice next week or whether it will only rate in its absence.
I dunno David in regards to lead in for IGST. The show on before it, Wild Life at the Zoo, had 604,000 and was 18th highest for the night. 150,000 or so switched off when Adam Hills came on. I think most people check the TV guide and switch accordingly no matter what program is on before it. 150,000 or so extra viewers tune into channel 10 after The Project to watch Biggest Loser so I don’t really think viewers just leave their TV sitting on the one channel all night
With CE & the Block taking out 3 of the top 5 demo rankings, even though Nine cooked the books with their coding choice, it’s still a great demo outcome for them.
I wouldn’t say Adam Hills IGST is cringeworthy. It is a different style to most & that is the point of difference! Yes his talk show is less popular but in my opinion he has a great personality!
Idiotbox: I never actually said Adam Hills was unpopular. When your lead-ins are low, you sure have your work cut out for you. But it’s clear viewers preferred Spicks over Gordon St. For the record I tipped Adam Hills for the Presenter award and happy to see him win.
I agree with your comment on another page David that the Logie’s Most Popular Presenter Adam Hills doesn’t seem that popular. Gordon St didn’t even make it into the top 20 shows last night. It’s an awful show and the host is cringe worthy so I’m not surprised at this result. Given last nights show was on only 3 days after his Logies “win” it seems the public are over him too.
Wow 9, even ‘The Hoff’ Apprentice couldnt do it for you…is it any wonder the show is full of never was’ and has beens.
As for the Block…think I am over it already !!
Wow I was expecting bigger numbers for CA. I watched last years but wasnt really interested this year. I flicked over in the ads from AGT and just kept seeing the hoff talk.
The titanic story last night was interesting. Bit surprised to see the block drop off.
I was watching the Titanic with someone and they left to go to bed before it ended at around 10.30pm. So I wonder how many did the same. If they had of started it on time they could of probably had a higher average. And also not inconvenienced the audience.
What a farce! Split ratings again. Now Nine is going too far. This is ridiculous. Good to see Seven back on top. I knew Celebrity Apprentice would launch soft. Talent back up which I also expected. See this is why it takes more than one show to be on top, nine will win this week but around The Voice Nine still have basically nothing.
Offspring did ok and for 2 hours Titanic did better than I thought it would.
The Voice: coming soon to Wednesday and Thursday…
Too many live shows now
David any idea what Titanic peaked at? Because that is all Nine has been banging on about all week.
Seven should have coded the two titanic episodes separately. If they did i would suspect part would of got around the 1 million mark. Lessons learnt for seven. I also think that Australia has had enough of the block! Yah it is a horrible show.
Disasters for Celebrity Apprentice and Offspring.
Two overblown & over-hyped duds.
Where’s th Good Wife? I thought it would have done well after Offspring
Glad to see Offspring do well in the Demos! My new gripe will be be low drama ratings while people embrace mindless reality!
Also I thought networks were going to stop coding shows separately! Maybe it should air as two shows then???
What’s with this new nonsense of dividing one program into two and claiming it as two different programs? First The Project and now Apprentice (I purposely omit the word “Celebrity”).
And…stop this 8:30 becomes 8:50 nonsense too.
And Thud!
The sound of channel 9 crashing back to earth.
The highs and lows for 9 execs this week
