  1. Of course it will be about more than the voice. It is just the hook for the concept – it is variations on a well worn and used TV construct – going all the way back to New Faces and Young Talent Time as well as Idol, X factor.

I am not sure yet about Darren the host – albeit he hasn’t had much to do so far – he lacks warmth and ease on screen for me. But the immense star power of the big 4 mentors/coaches and the amazing Washington, Ricki, Darren and Benji gives the show its point of difference. But if an Andrew Wishart and a Susan Boyle can win or make finals of similar shows, we’ll see what happens with the 24 finalists on this show.

  2. So the show all about “the Voice” introduces 2 female singers on Mon night as the Battle of the Beauties. Now with the public voting starting up how much will it still be about The Voice.

  3. Just shows Revenge doesn’t need a lead in. The show has its fanbase and its good to see its holding its own. The Voice is slowly slipping but is slipping none the less. The show has become The Package not The Voice now. Ouch for Masterchef. Down under the magic million on episode 2. Yes i know what it was against but still.

Good start to The Price is Right. Mind you the show needs a hell of a lot of work. In turn Deal all of a sudden has a perk up. This could be a good move afterall.

  4. If it’s Monday it must be………Monday Night NRL on Fox!!!!!!
Care factor zero when it comes to virtually all FTA reality shows…..only exception is TAR US version.

  5. Dumb question but how long is The Voice going to run and does Nine have anything else that could see it win enough weeks to win the year?

I’m not a fan of these types of shows but I’m glad Seven isn’t going to have an easy run this year.

  6. Your wrote “MasterChef (996,00)” I assume that was meant to read 996,000. Wonder if figures will pick up when The Block finishes, or are people “My Kitchen Rules”ed out?

  7. The Voice is the wrong title, it should be The Look. I predict one of Deltas young kids to win as the public will start voting soon. Thank god Masterchef is back!

  8. so night 1, Hawaii 5 0 296,000 for 9.30pm, 10.30 was a repeat of ncis l.a which pulled even less and yet still no ten late news!
Tonight we get to see sandra for a one off! I’m gonna tape it just so i can watch her again:)

  9. Saw a tweet yesterday from someone claiming auto tune on the voice, and a few of my muso mates on facebook were saying they heard it on the duo…would be a real shame if the producers are doing this, it’s such a fantastic show!

  10. @Agent X I just caught that. I couldn’t believe what he said. I thought he went a bit too far in bad mouthing her.

I loved Shower the People it nap beautiful. But was sad that Casey didn’t go through after all the promos.

The show still drags though. At least its repeated on Saturday night which is really good.

  11. I’m not that impressed with the voice! I keep seeing old Australian Idol/X factor/Star Search rejects on the show! Or they come from some sort of professional background, such as the theatre! Of course they are going to be good singers!! These shows should be about undiscovered talent and about finding a voice. Instead we get a long drawn out back story which involves someones death or disability. If people really have a dream to sing for the rest of their lives, they can easily do it at any pub/club around Australia. Australia’s Got Talent is the same and I’m sick of seeing the same people appearing on every talent show!! You had your chance, you couldn’t do it with previous exposure, so give others a go!! I get the feeling that these people don’t really want a singing career as their dream, it seems they just want to be a celebrity!

All that being said, I’ll give credit to Darren McMullen as being a great host!! He leaves Luke Jacobs for dead and I think Darren creates a more professional vibe to the whole show, whereas Luke looks like a muppet with no personality!

  12. Not sure why this show is called The Voice when, just like every other ‘talent’ show, they are once again eliminating people based on their looks…
