Airdate: Hamish and Andy’s Euro Gap Year

Gold Logie winner Hamish Blake and pal Andy Lee return with their second series for Nine, now in an earlier timeslot.

Gold Logie winner Hamish Blake and pal Andy Lee return with their second series for Nine next month, Hamish and Andy’s Euro Gap Year.

This time the show airs in an earlier time slot, 8.00pm Thursdays from June 14th, which could affect its classification but does benefit from The Block as a lead-in.

After immersing themselves in American culture last year, Hamish and Andy have decided you can never stop learning and it would therefore be irresponsible not to take another gap year in 2012.

The Nine Network’s new series, Hamish and Andy’s Euro Gap Year, will feature the boys’ travels and adventures throughout Europe and be broadcast weekly from The Lord Stanley, a disused pub in East London.

“It was a bit of a reno project when we got it, but hopefully we’ll be able to squeeze a few Aussies in to watch the show…I hear there might be one or two of them in London,” said Hamish.

Whether it’s jumping off bridges 25 metres high to become “real men” in Bosnia, racing wild reindeer in Lapland or dropping in to a finger-pulling festival in Germany, Hamish and Andy will be there to revel in Europe’s weird and wonderful pastimes.

For their final episode Hamish & Andy are also planning to have a “sporting festival themed” show, which luckily coincides with a rather popular event occurring in London. The boys will be inviting along some especially talented Australians who will be London at the time.

Hamish and Andy’s Euro Gap Year follows the success of 2011’s Hamish and Andy’s Gap Year, which averaged 1,045,000 viewers nationally, consistently won its timeslot and was awarded the 2012 Logie for Most Popular Light Entertainment program.

“Last year they wreaked havoc in the US,” Michael Healy, Nine Network Director of Television, said. “We can’t wait to see what happens when Hamish and Andy are unleashed on Europe.”

People will be able to raise their bier steins for the series premiere on Channel Nine on Thursday, June 14 at 8.00pm.

  1. @victweety – Where did you see that it as the finale? Just had a look on yourtv….. in sydney there is still 3 episodes to go and in melbourne there is still 2.

  2. these guys are way funnier ‘off the cuff’ with no prepared scripts….last season was a bit of a let down.

@ryan CH9 had to give them something to do, considering the reported price they paid for them…
