Axed: Flashpoint

Canadian cop drama Flashpoint will wrap after its fifth season.

Canadian cop drama Flashpoint will wrap after its fifth season.

The series was renewed for its fifth season last June but cast and crew were told of the decision by CTV this week.

The show about the elite force in Toronto will wrap at 75 episodes, with the final season consisting of 13 episodes.

“While the series is still at its creative apex, we’ve decided to end the series on a high note, and give those fans the satisfaction of a fitting series conclusion in our 75th episode,” Anne Marie La Traverse and Bill Mustos of Pink Sky Entertainment and Avamar Entertainment said in a statement.

The series found life in the US on CBS during the 2008 writer’s strike, and has aired in Australia on Nine.

  1. Haha yep remember it well mucho…Nine ended up showing half a dozen episodes before they finally showed episode 1 – where we met one of the main characters who I assumed had always been part of the team, but no he was introduced in the pilot…awful scheduling…That, and they didn’t show many more eps before it got shifted out of the schedule for a few months. Way to grab and sustain an audience…

  2. Anyone remember when Nein decided to ‘sneak peek’ this after the Cricket one day at 10:30pm at night, and played the second or third episode instead of the premiere?

I noticed they brought back reruns of season one at midnight. It’s not that good to a show TBH, very formulaic and redundant
