Channel [V] Presenter Search: Top 20

Over six thousand people applied for a shot at becoming a presenter for Channel [V].

Channel [V] has announced its Top 20 applicants in its 2012 Presenter Search.

Over six thousand people applied for the shot at becoming a presenter for the musical channel, the biggest influx yet.

Two hundred applicants were shortlisted for second round auditions as the [V] crew hit capital cities and regional centres.

The Top 20 are:

Victoria: Amanda Grafanakis (Melbourne), Bridget Hustwaite (Ballarat), Charlie Cotton (Melbourne), Emily Whitham (Shepparton), Marty Smiley (Melbourne), Nicolas Rivet (Melbourne), Serge Negus (Melbourne) and Xanthe Dobbie (Melbourne).

Queensland: Sophie Wright (Brisbane).

New South Wales: Gus Kell (Sydney), Jonno Seidler (Sydney), Mitchell Feltscheer (Sydney) and Sam Taunton (Sydney).

ACT: Lauren Hollands (Canberra).

South Australia: Miranda Freeman (Adelaide) and Ned Raggatt (Adelaide).

Western Australia: Aisha Jefcoate (Perth), Annabel Maclean (Perth) and Taihra (Tai) Swaine (Perth).

Jaimi Starr (Bathurst) is the wild card, following five Groovin’ The Moo festivals around Australia.

Viewers can vote for their favourite at vmusic.com.au, with a viewer prize of $5000 cash.

The top 4 finalists will be announced live on The Riff, Saturday 16 June at 10:30am (AEST), with one spot in the top 4 to be voted by viewers.

  1. It’s interesting to note that Serge Negus has already done reporting for The Project, not to mention is George Negus’ son… Surely they could have given his spot to someone who hasn’t already had the opportunity to be on TV
