Karma bites Colton on Survivor: One World

Such a shock was Colton's performance that he was trending on Twitter in Australia last night, despite being sent home at around midnight, AEST on Nine.

He may have provided all the drama in the current season of Survivor: One World, but last night Colton Cumbie was sent packing after taking ill on the show.

Doctors deemed his illness as appendicitis and removed him from the show, thwarting his plans to become the next Survivor champ.

“It wasn’t actually appendicitis,” Colton later said in his post-exit interview. “I had a severe bacterial infection in the lining of my stomach and my intestines. That was causing the headaches and the pain.”

The flamboyant Southerner has so far proven to be the show’s highlight, even though his behaviour has barely ranked above the “bitchy queen” stakes. At times he has even been an on-air bully.

Such a shock was his performance that he was trending on Twitter in Australia last night, despite the fact he was sent packing at around midnight, AEST on Nine.

Cumbie revealed he was flown to a hospital where he was treated with antibiotics, and then had to be treated further once he got back home.

Now, though he quips, “I’m all better. I’m fat again!”

Survivor ended in the US a few weeks ago but in Australia is airing late night on Nine.

  1. The whole bullying thing was disgusting and the camera crew, producers whoever should have stopped it and Alicia and Colton sent home. I thought they had rules about that sort of thing!! How dare Alicia who is a special ed teacher treat another human being that way, threatning to punch Christina if she touched her! the bystanders were just as bad, standing around saying nothing. Typical of schoolyard bullying which surely Alicia should have recognized, hope she got the sack!

  2. Ok cool. I understand your policy now…if its aired in Australia no spoiler. This is far enough. Anyway as I alluded to in my post below the survivor Facebook page has millions of followers and they have mastered the art of spoiler free headlines and photos. Anyway great blog u have. Keep it up!

  3. Re: Spoilers.
David, I’ve just started watching Twin Peaks. Would really appreciate it if you don’t mention who killed Laura Palmer or whether any of it will make sense in the end until I’ve finished watching it. Thanks! 😉

  4. Any chance when you post articles like this you could write the headline in way that is spoiler free? I haven’t watched this episode yet! The survivor usa Facebook page does it well!

  5. Thank you for providing this follow up story to last night’s events on Survivor. I elected to wait and watch the season as it airs, in line with friends, rather than acquire it elsewhere. This means I can’t search online for fear of spoilers thanks to Nine’s decision to air the season so far behind the U.S.

This is some of the worst bullying I have witnessed in the history of Survivor and wonder how these people can justify treating another person so cruelly just because they are part of a Reality TV show. The fact that Alicia is a teacher makes it even more appalling.

I would have preferred to see Colton blindsided but he got what he deserved whatever the means. Now if only a coconut would fall and land on Alicia.

  6. Glad to see him gone. He wasn’t entertaining. He wasn’t fun to watch. He was awful. Treated Christina like garbage for no reason. Good riddance to bad rubbish. And don’t get me started on Alicia. She’s worse.
