  1. Guy May 29, 2012 at 10:46 pm -

It just goes to show that 2 big shows can compete in one timeslot and be competitive. Revenge has been building over the past few weeks and it is the real breakout hit of 2012. I don’t think there is any other show that could sustain such good numbers against The Voice and Seven persevered with Revenge instead of doing a Nine and moving it around the schedule (like many shows on Nine) and its won out.

Tricky Business is a joke of a show. It gets the biggest lead in for the week and can’t even retain half its audience. Yes Body of Proof is sort of in the same boat but it is a lot cheaper to put there then an Aussie drama so when you look at it that way it works.

Border Security is really struggling against The Voice and Masterchef but also you have to remember Sydney and Brisbane markets get this same duo on Thursdays too and its sometimes a little hard to know what is new and what is repeat.

  2. nik c May 29, 2012 at 1:57 pm -

Better figures for Revenge after recent weeks! Not quite the return to premier, but hopefully it will continue well against Voice! Ch7 could win the week with a smaller % gap on a Monday & no Origin.

  3. MuchoTB May 29, 2012 at 12:42 pm -

Those are great figures for Revenge. Body of Proof seems to be a better lead-out than HIMYM was, ratings wise anyway.

  4. jezza the first original one May 29, 2012 at 10:56 am -

Well when David reviewed Tricky, myself and many others all said it would be a massive ratings flop in its time slot. How can we mere mortals know more about programming than the folk at ch 9. Answer….

I suggest the powers that be…sack them and employ us

With regards to Revenge, it gets even better, I have just seen the season finale…..stick with it, you will not be disappointed…..and you will want more

  5. Ronnie May 29, 2012 at 10:07 am -

Those Tricky Business numbers are low. Talk about destroying whatever chance it had by programming it so late. Nine drama lost in the wilderness again…..proving my theory yet again that Underbelly was a fluke – not a decision that came from Nine’s drama selection process.

  6. D@GP May 29, 2012 at 10:04 am -

Well, “who got shot” was promoted by 7 as the second coming, but didn’t really reflect the “who shot JR” response all those years ago.

Curse the internet and those DMCs …

Can only hope that 9 scuttles Risky Business and replace it with Person of Interest… or the few remaining eps of Harry’s Law … ?

  7. bettestreep2008 May 29, 2012 at 9:49 am -

Although they are very impressive figures, The Voice has lost more than half a million viewers since the auditions – much like what has occurred in overseas versions.

But before Nine can pop the champagne corks – they have a real stinker on their hands with ‘Tricky Business”. To have such a huge lead in and then to manage just under 700K should be worrying for Nine.

And Ten have nothing to gloat about. Despite MCA squeaking over 1m, their main station came fourth to the ABC!
