The Kumars to be revived

UK comedy act The Kumars are set to make a comeback, interviewing celebs once again.

UK comedy act The Kumars are set to make a comeback in a downsized version for SKY in the UK.

In The Kumars at No 42B the family are forced to downsize to a flat in Hounslow. But they are able to resurrect the talk show in the flat through a sponsorship deal.

Sanjeev Bhaskar returns as the host, interviewing celebrities in the home, but his character is now divorced, with part-custody of his eight-year-old daughter.  Original cast members Meera Syal, Vincent Ebrahim and Indira Joshi also return.

The original series ran for 53 episodes over seven series from 2001 to 2006.

Bhaskar said: ‘It’s incredibly exciting to revisit these warm, oddball characters and to be given the opportunity to bring them up to date. We’ve tried to retain what viewers loved about the original show and to inject new characters and elements in a slightly new format that we hope will appeal to an even broader audience.’

  1. Wonder if ‘The Greeks’ will be hanging out on a new roof? Probably not…
Glad to have the Kumars back, they were always good for a laugh (even if half the time I had no idea who the random British celebrity they were talking to was)
