This week SBS premieres Indian Ocean with Simon Reeve a 6 part series in which UK adventurer Simon Reeve begins a journey in South Africa and ends in south-west Australia.
He visits 16 countries, from the conflict in Mogadishu in Somalia, through the Maldives, Mauritius, the Seychelles to India and Indonesia.
Episode 1: South Africa to Zanzibar
This first leg of the journey takes Simon from the rugged coast of South Africa, where he joins the fight against wildlife poachers, through Mozambique, and on to the tropical island of Zanzibar. On the way, he swims with sharks, meets the refugees who have found shelter in a luxury beachfront hotel, and travels on a huge container ship fortified against the constant threat of pirates.
Wednesday, 6 June at 8.30pm on SBS ONE.

Thanks for the photo, until now I didn’t realise (not that I had thought about it much) that he was a different person to Channel 7’s Simon Reeve!
Simon Reeve has done some great trips around the world, the tropics and equator, this looks good and only just aired in the UK.
This series is well worth watching. Confronting at times, and Simon Reeve seems to have no fear.
OMG something worth seeing on Wednesday. Thank you SBS very much. 🙂
