Australian born Yvonne Strahovski, best known for her role in Chuck, has joined the cast of Dexter.

She will enjoy a multi-episode arc in the upcoming seventh season as Hannah McKay, a strong, independent woman with a past that she’s struggled to put behind her. As a turn of events leads Miami Metro Homicide to ask for her help in solving some old cases, Dexter (Michael C. Hall) works with her and begins to wonder if there’s more to this woman than she’s professed.

Production on season seven began last week for a September 30 premiere in the US.

  1. After the mess of season six, I’ll wait for the reviews and possibly DVDs. Season two was the best (Doakes!), and season four gets a big pass for killing off the show’s most annoying character.

  2. Love Dexter and can’t wait to see this, but I’m a season behind, guess I’ll be catching up before Sept.

@Signupname – Yvonne is hardly ‘joining’ the show, its a guest role but I would mind if she was on the whole season. Even better if it turns out her character is bad.

  3. I personally disliked season one and found it a bore to sit through, but loved season two and almost every season onwards. My favourites overall were probably four and five.

I will agree with the consensus that season six was rubbish, it started out promising but by the end I was glad it was over.

Dexter is a great show. However quite far from Chuck.

I would say, just start watching from season one. See if you like it. Then if you do, it won’t be long before you catch up to the latest season. If you like it, you’ll storm your way through the DVDs in no time.

Is it really jumping aboard a sinking ship? The show has season guest actors all the time.

I still enjoy Dexter. The main complaint is how often they now use… “OMG dexter is in a situation he’s about to be caught…. Cut to he’s home now.

  5. Never good to jump aboard a sinking ship. Season six of Dexter proved one of the most staggering drops in quality in a show I’ve seen. Pretty much the only decent thing all season was the last scene. Hopefully season seven is a drastic improvement…

  6. If you don’t want to spoil it for everyone..why would the producers say anything about Deb so they don’t “spoil” it for everyone!!
