CBS throwing Unforgettable a lifeline?

CBS is in discussions to bring back axed drama Unforgettable for the US summer season.

Axed US drama Unforgettable may not be axed after all.

Deadline reports that CBS is in discussions to bring it back with a 13-episode order targeted for the US summer season.

The series, which features Aussie Poppy Montgomery, averaged 12.1 million viewers and a 2.5/7 among adults 18-49 in the US and producers Sony Pictures TV began actively shopping the series to other networks, including TNT and Lifetime after CBS called it quits.

The axing was deemed to be one of the closest calls this season.

In Australia the show has aired on Nine, first on Thursdays and now on Sundays.

CBS network declined comment.

  1. There were several shows that got axed merely for the fact that they didn’t rate with the demographics that networks were looking for and I think that was the case here. I hope someone does give it a second chance.

  2. This is terrific news! I couldn’t believe CBS cancelled one of the best performing shows this season, and was thankful to hear that TNT and Lifetime might revive it. I think it would do better on TNT then having a half season on CBS, with TNT having a track record of great shows – with Southland a NBC axed series after 2 seasons and then TNT revieved it and it is now in it’s 5th season. Will be interesting to see what happens…

  3. Confused as to why they cancelled it. From what i remember.. it was winning it’s times slot in total viewers and battling close for 2nd in the demo. Maybe Sony wanted too much money for it.

I don’t understand why the Networks in the US and here totally give up during ‘Summer’… NBC brings out new material with Americas got Talent and they’re winning while CBS flat lines with constant repeats.
