Charity returns the love to Kerri-Anne

The charity Kerri-Anne was supporting via Dancing with the Stars helps people cope with the side-effects of chemotherapy -and she is the patron.

The charity that Kerri-Anne Kennerley was supporting through Dancing with the Stars has reached out to lend its support to the star during a time of crisis.

In a rather cruel irony, Kerri-Anne Kennerley is Patron on Look Good…Feel Better which is dedicated to helping Australians cope with the appearance related side-effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Look Good…Feel Better has benefitted enormously from Kerri-Anne being our Patron over the last 3 years,”a spokesperson told TV Tonight.

“She works tirelessly for the charity.

“We, along with the rest of the Australian public were shocked and saddened to hear of her breast cancer diagnosis. We want to express our greatest support and love for Kerri-Anne.”

The charity conducts workshops for women suffering from cancer, helping disguise some of the ill effects of treatment.

Kennerley knows better than most about the trials of chemotherapy treatment.

As Patron for the organisation she has interviewed cancer patients undergoing treatment on Kerri-Anne, fronted the group’s national TV campaign and hosted fundraising events.

“I fully appreciate the work of Look Good…Feel Better,” she has previously said. “The notion of helping cancer patients feel better about themselves while undergoing the rigours of cancer treatment is a tonic that can only help. We are all touched by cancer in our everyday lives and I relish the prospect of supporting this great charity.

“I think for a very long time people have accepted the correlation between feeling better and looking better, and there’s no question, especially with women, losing hair, losing skin tone, all of a sudden if you look better you feel better – it’s part of the healing process.”
