Couch Time boys offend Lara Bingle

Bad P.R. as ELEVEN's presenters on Couch Time give Lara Bingle a hard time during a radio interview.

B105 presenters Labby and Stav who appear on ELEVEN’s Couch Time were caught up in a minor controversy yesterday when they interviewed Lara Bingle ahead of her new show on TEN.

Together with radio co-presenter Abby, they asked Bingle why she thought she should have a Reality show made about her.

In addition to accidentally calling her “Laura” they asked if she was “Australia’s answer to a question we never asked”.

Bingle, unimpressed, ended with a curt goodbye and later tweeted “Labby, Stav and Abby from @B105LSA and the worst radio presenters I have ever spoken with. They should be taken off air. No respect!”

The three responded with “Hey guys – We didn’t mean to offend Lara on the show this morning, she’s welcome back anytime. Good luck with the show @mslarabingle!”

If that’s how things go down with radio interviewers who are with the same network, I hate to think what will happen with those who aren’t on side…..

  1. No respect? Why in god’s name should anyone have to show any respect regarding this nonsensical piece of bottom-dredging TV? If you splash about in the publicity gutter don’t expect people to fawn all over you and ignore the smell.

If you want respect Lara you should start by doing something that deserves some.

  2. These guys are the biggest time wasters. Neighbours is the only show I watch on 11 and it always starts late and doesnt finish until 10 past 7 some nights.

These 2 dont need to be on talking about absolute rubbish, or move them to another timeslot.

  3. The simple premise that anyone is talking about this means she is winning.
Every part of this whole sad experience is stage managed, the old adage” any publicity is good publicity” has just been taken to a different level.
What a better way to insure other media outlets pickup on this is to create division within your own, clever only because of the lack of general intelligence that will be her demographic.

  4. I agree with JayElle.

The only thing I watch on 11 is “Neighbours”
and every night it seems to get later & later
thanks to the drivel these 2 talk about!

    I feel sorry for Lara.

  5. “Australia’s answer to a question we never asked”.
    Pretty much sums it up.

Would have better than Kyle % Jackie O’s fake enthusiasm when she was on their show. . .

  6. The irreverent interviewing the irrelevant. I don’t watch one and won’t be watching the other, not even to see how awful it is. The two ads I’ve caught tell me all I need to know.

  7. I’ve had the misfortune to catch Labby and Stav from time to time and they are dreadful. I’m not a Bingle fan and I know she’s on the media circuit to promote the show but if you’re going to have a guest on be a bit respectful.

  8. Well, there’s insulting and stupid, and then there’s irreverent. This, I think, is the latter.

I am continually disappointed how often comedians feel they have to apologise for jokes. It undermines what humour actually is.

  9. These guys sound like a breath of fresh air. If Lara can’t handle bad interviewers, what will she be like when her show flops? Can’t wait to find out!

  10. Two things here:
1: Her show will not last, we all know that. Labby and Stav know that too, and are taking the piss.
2: Get rid of Couch Time, it is dreadful and a waste of time and money. Give the money to Freemantle to put towards Neighbours getting bigger and better sets, rather than shrinking them to the size of a postage stamp.

  11. They offended her by asking the question everyones thinking? Get over it Lara … just wait until your show flops and its “moved” to another timeslot, or dropped all together!

  12. “Australia’s answer to a question we never asked” 😆 Classic! She has no sense of humour. It’s not like they called her a “moll”.

  13. Well maybe they’re just saying what the rest are thinking. Lara’s been answering the same questions over and over and even with the exact same answers (she always seems to have just got back from India “last night” no matter what day of the week it is)

Anyway I’m pretty sure the show will tank after a couple of episodes – Channel 10 are not MTV

  14. The show they present on Eleven is actually called “Couch Time”, not “The Couch”.

Surely this will just add to the growing list of publicity for the show, both good and bad…
