“The moment of truth ….everything in my life has brought me to this point.”
Looks like the jig is up for Dexter.
Can’t wait…..

Well, if Dex has any sense, Travis will create one last tableau of revenge featuring his arch enemy Lt Debra Morgan before disappearing (to the bottom of Biscayne Bay of course) for ever. Then Dex can talk to both Harry and Deb for the rest of the series.
Whilst I agree I agree with you Justin about how formulaic the show has become and the writing has gone downhill – I still find it a fun show!
Hoping that the character development between Debra and Dexter can help get its mojo back. I’m still excited!
I agree with you, Justin. After last season I decided to only read episode reviews to see how the show and story is going. The novelty has kind of worn off and the writing is uninspired.
Justin, have you read the books? That’s exactly what the books are like. Formulaic, as most crime shows and crime fiction tend to be. Doesn’t mean they and the show aren’t enjoyable.
It’s a strange feeling when you decide not to watch a show you once looked forward to every year, but I just don’t think I can watch this new season. The show has gone on for too long, should have been 4-5 seasons max, but of course Showtime just keeps things going when they make money. The last season was just so terrible, with a season long plot twist that most guessed from the first or second episode, lazy writing and Colin hanks trying his hardest to act (and failing miserably). And the other thing that ways Dex down so much is formulaic season breakdown, every year the same thing, new serial killer in Miami who Dex kills in the last episode. Breaking Bad is showing Dexter how this sort of show should work, the most important thing being having an end point and a defined character arc.
Looks really good!! Can’t wait till September.
