Aussie comedian Jim Jeffries has landed his own US series on FX.
Jeffries, who has appeared on Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Have I Got News For You, and at Edinburgh and Montreal festivals, has a 13-episode series called Legit, which follows a comedian named Jim and his misguided attempts to become ‘legitimate’ in life.
The series is co-created with Peter O’Fallon (The Riches) who directed the pilot and also co-produces.
“I couldn’t be happier than getting to do this show,” says Jeffries. “FX has set the bar so high with shows like Louie and Sunny, but I believe Peter and I have created something special. The cast is amazing and FX has given us all the freedom we need. I can’t wait for people to see it.”
Joining Jeffries are Dan Bakkedahl as his encouraging friend ‘Steve’ and D.J. Qualls as ‘Steve’s’ brother ‘Billy.’

The funniest man we have produced in a long time, I am a huge fan and can’t wait to see the show.
Apparently he’s very successful in America, and is often described as being successful in Australia too. But I had never heard of him until a few months ago.
I also don’t find him to be very funny, but then my tastes in humour don’t seem to be catered for these days.
