Kerri-Anne sings on The Morning Show

It's been a long time between tunes, but Kerri-Anne was coaxed into singing on The Morning Show, when she co-hosted alongside Larry Emdur.

No sign of Gina Riley doing ‘Kerri-Anne Kennel’ but the real Kerri-Anne was coaxed (kicking and screaming?) into singing today on The Morning Show, when she co-hosted alongside Larry Emdur.

KAK sang the J’OK classic “Shout” and performed a routine she was set to do on Dancing with the Stars before being eliminated, the 20th Century Fox Mambo from Smash.

Her appearance is a little ironic given it was TMS ratings that arguably killed off her own show on Nine, but the KAKster is a good sport and much-loved by the Seven crew.

  1. I stand corrected – thanks, Mr J. She received three consecutive nods in the 90’s. Still no ‘cigar’, and for a thirty year career, that is pretty slim.

@clofts, I too, think of Gina and her ‘Kerrie Anne Kennel – a man’s best friend’ – each time she performs. I haven’t always been a fan of KAK but i do admire a survivor and she personifies showbiz and great to see an older woman remain in the spotlight as long as she has. Her grace and determination was evident on Dancing with the Stars. I think she got some proper recognition.

  2. I’ve said it before, and it is about time that KAK won a Logie – if Ray Meagher and John Wood and Karl and Hamish can win one – how about a campaign for KAK for Gold. She has never even been nominated! Remembering the hilarious Gina Riley send ups from 1990, makes me realise just how long Kerri Anne has been on the tv landscape. She even had a dramatic role in The Restless Years more than 30 years ago.

  3. I know it’s apparently a prime-time show… but I’d like to spout a wonderful theory.

    1. A live audience
    2. KAK Singing (live music)
    3. The ‘Shout’ Song – a Channel 9 ident classic

Seems to point to history… David, does 9 still own the rights to the name ‘Midday’?

    How quickly we forget…
