Yes sadly I don’t think it would have matched numbers for Paper Giants. But even The Slap didn’t match those.
@Lizzie May. Comparing the ratings figures for June 3 with June 11, I’d guess Mabo may have picked up another 100 -150k if it had been shown then. I just think, unfortunately, it is a story with limited mainstream appeal. It was never going to get The Block or The Voice numbers.
MillerT1, Nine already has a supposedly “younger skewing” channel in GO. Us older people especially women need a channel with something other than crap reality shows and equally crap unfunny American comedies!
Nine need to revamp GEM, put a bit more younger skewing stuff on that channel.
Considering how much Ten crammed previews of the awful Last Man Standing into every single ad break they could over the past two-three weeks, that figure is absolutely terrible. It also dragged New Girl down with it by giving it a very low-rated lead-in.
It might do better after Masterchef tonight but there’s no guarantees.
Downton Abbey is still smashing the competition, getting twice the figures of The Mentalist and 3x the ratings of “Touch”.
What was on 7mate last night to get a 6% share? Whatever it was worked. Well done Seven.
What shame Mabo didn’t rate a lot higher than it did.It was a wonderful movie, and proof that the ABC can produce quality drama when it puts its mind to it.
Ironically it was the 20th anniversary a week earlier, Sunday June 3.
The ABC programmer should get sacked for this. One of the most important stories in our history and they schedule it for Sunday of a long weekend where historically, numbers drop off until the Monday night. Shame on you ABC. The makers of the program must feel terribly frustrated that their beautiful story, told with love and dedication was so unappreciated because someone, who should know their job, stuffed up!
Long weekend didn’t help figures for Mabo. Tonight the numbers will be huge across the board.
Damn, Mabo deserved so much more than that. What a shame, was a great movie. And Deb Mailman and Jimi Bani were brilliant.
Not surprised with Last Man Standing. I watched the first few eps and thought it was ordinary and not too much different to Home Improvement. It somehow rates well in the US though.
