There’s a new offering from Working Dog in the air, but blink and you’ll miss it.
Audrey’s Kitchen is an interstitial which will air for a bite-size 5 minutes on Saturdays and Sundays starring Heidi Arena ( The Librarians) as fictional celebrity chef, the impeccably coiffed Audrey Gordon.
Each episode features an exotic recipe prepared in Audrey’s’ “unfeasibly clean and spacious kitchen.”
Sounds like the perfect antidote to a genre bursting at the seams (you lot know who you are).
Along with the always-opinionated Audrey’s thoughts on food, table manners and the inadequacies of our immigration policy, it’s also an opportunity for Audrey to rail against the annoyances of her daily life, from poor table manners and substandard produce, to vegetarians and store-bought mayonnaise.
This is an irreverent antidote to the crowded world of celebrity chefdom, a tongue-in-cheek send-up of the cult of TV cooking. Audrey’s Kitchen is a series for anyone who loves food but is willing to admit that we might all sometimes be taking it just a tad too seriously.

They published a cookbook under the same title a few years ago, which made me laugh every time I saw it sitting amongst the ‘serious’ cookbooks in the book store!
Posh Nosh was hilarious. I expect that this won’t be as surreal but I’ll try to remember to turn the TV on early for it.

Sounds like Posh Nosh, which I loved, with Richard E Grant and Arabella Weir. And David Tennant as a tennis coach!!
