Foxtel Olympic Games: Guide

Foxtel has released its television guide for the upcoming London Olympics at www.foxtel.com.au/london2011.

The Pay TV provider is boasting the biggest broadcast of an Olympics in Australian history from July 25, encompassing all 26 sports, culminating in 3,200 hours of sport including around 1,100 hours Live.

Foxtel will host eight dedicated channels 24 hours a day in both High Definition and Standard Definition, including every Gold Medal event.

Events live and in full are: Swimming, Equestrian, Canoe Slalom and Sprint, Diving, Rowing, Gymnastics, Athletics – Track, Triathlon, Weightlifting and Cycling. Men’s and Women’s Road Race will be live and uninterrupted. Every Australian men’s and women’s preliminary basketball match will be live and in full and 56 Hockey matches will be shown in full.

From July 21, the online TV Guide allows viewers to filter by channel, day, sport and gold medal event. Residential Sports subscribers with iQ or iQHD will be able to remote record events using the online Guide.

Foxtel has also released a new London 2012 App for tablets.

It lets viewers watch Foxtel’s eight London channels on either their Apple iPad or compatible Android tablet throughout the duration of the Games.

Streamed over WiFi or via 3G, Foxtel residential Sports customers can download the free* App, available from today, to receive Foxtel’s eight dedicated London 2012 Olympic channels on the go and never miss a moment of the action. With the App, customers can:
• Watch eight dedicated channels
• Catch up on over 700 hours from the Games including all Gold Medal events
• Browse ‘Must Watch’ sessions for each day of the Olympic Games
• Keep up to date with the latest results
• Plan viewing with the London 2012 Channels TV Guide
• Remote Record Olympic Games sessions directly to the Foxtel iQ

Foxtel’s broadcast commences on Wednesday, July 25 at 7.00pm (AEST) with a welcome show, and will be followed by live coverage of the Football preliminaries later that night.

  1. Well done foxtel on great coverage. I am not usually a sports fan but really enjoying watching the games, especially being able to choose between 8 channels and watch what you want when you want.
