Anything above 700,000 is good for Ten
The botox girls dancing in the club was Logie worthy television haha!!
Tim: Ratings are always preliminary, and some shows are adjusted if shows run overtime. I publish the data as delivered to me by OzTAM however in the comments below and in the ratings story I wrote this morning, I noted it was expected to be adjusted to 745,000. The Age has now confirmed this. It’s the way the system works, but I do what I can to clarify when I can.
Hi David,
I’m rather confused about The Shire. According to your ratings, it picked up viewers on its launch episode. Has there been an adjustment due to Masterchef running over time?
The Age has reported this today:
“The first is that it’s claim to being a hit is tenuous at best. Last night only 754,000 people tuned in, a sharp drop from last week’s audience of close to one million.”
Cheers, Tim
I was going to watch Up All Night which was listed in on-line guides as starting at 9:30. It didn’t start until 9:54 but, as I had decided to watch something else at 10:00, I didn’t bother.
@bettestreep2008 – you’re definitely wrong about The Shire increasing its ratings, almost certainly wrong about Nine not caring about ratings for a whole week, and likely to be wrong about the Nine Network rating higher than the other four added together.
Other than those things, I agree with everything you wrote!
@bettestreep2008 – “BTW I don’t think Nine gives a toss about this week” – Any professional Program Director would never concede one hour of one day. At least that was Kerry Packer’s credo.
“They know that from Sunday midnight and over the next 3 weeks they will be rating more than the other 4 networks combined”. Hmm, unlikely, given the time difference, replays at anytime on ABC24, and Foxtel.
BTW I don’t think Nine gives a toss about this week. They know that from Sunday midnight and over the next 3 weeks they will be rating more than the other 4 networks combined.
David, I’m not a fan of Shire but MCA didn’t run overtime by too much last night.
How do you know it’ll be adjusted down to just 754K?
I would have thought given the controversy, this piece of rubbish would have increased in ratings this week.
The Shire = Hit.
MasterChef ran overtime. The Shire is expected to be adjusted to 754,000.
Wow The Shire ratings are crazier than some of the people on the show
Nine 4th behind ABC. Was Nine off the air after 7pm? Huge turn off after Nine News before ACA, but TT gained some after Seven News. Interesting.
OMG, only SBS behind 9…….
The Shire numbers went up???? What is wrong with people? This is why society sucks. Heard someone say yesterday how much they love Geordie Shore. People are weird.
