Psych plots musical episode

Offbeat procedural Psych will be having a 2 hour musical episode in its 7th season.

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen new episodes on Free to Air, but offbeat procedural Psych has been chugging along in the US and is now approaching its seventh season and 100th episode.

Series creator Steve Franks has told TVLine reports the USA Network satire plans a musical episode.

“Our musical episode is happening. It’s going to be a 2 hour movie airing outside of our regular schedule on a separate day near the end of the season,” he said.

Two hours ….that’s a big job.

All the songs will be originals.

Unless I’m mistaken it’s four seasons we’ve seen via Network TEN so it could be a while before we get to the musical extravaganza.

And lastly… does a musical episode mean it’s the beginning of the end?

  1. @Bazza – yes, I am fairly sure we missed out on a sizable chunk of the show with Ten’s fumblings as well.

Hopefully when even Ten gets sick of endless re-runs of Raymond, The Love Boat and Masterchef, they may find time for a rerun of this in Eleven’s schedule?

Oh look, a pig just flew past….

  2. Love the idea of a musical show, should be a laugh. This is one of my favorite shows, just a shame it hasn’t worked here on FTA.

In the US S7 returns in mid October, which is good but it’s usually an off peak show, so might get lost with all the other returning and new Fall shows. I hope it returns to FTA here soon.

  3. Didn’t we get something like season 1 and 2 on Ten, then season 5 on One? It’s a fantastic show, it’s a shame Ten feel the need to kill it.

  4. Great show. Shame we’ll never see this episode on Aussie tv.

And no musical episode doesn’t mean beginning of the end. Buffy’s musical episode is one of the best eps of the shows history, and Scrubs musical was also good. Psych can make it happen
