Kerry Packer would be rolling in his grave today seeing what a Mess Nine has become with all these done to death American Sitcoms.Stuff like 2.5 men or Big Bang Theory belong in the summer non ratings periods not an all year round event. This was once a channel most of us remember for Humphrey Bear,The Revived Wonder World in the Nineties(Since Canned for a 4:30pm News Bulletin),Cartoons after school as a lead in to the News amongst other things.Today it’s where old shows go to die.
Bob Morrison was a sitcom (not a real family). It was pretty terrible back then. Wilfred is a contemporary talking mutt, and for my money much funnier.
Bob Morrison was actually a Dog with a real family and my ideas for the other sitcoms were not too bad.The alternative is going back to the drawing board and make a comedy that is relevant to the 21st Century and is Home Grown.I am not suggesting an Aussie Married with Children or Roseanne but more a Cosby or something like the family on Different Strokes make it classy.
Nine could entertain us with re-runs Sale of the century!!
Hahahah. Bob Morrison in 2012? You actually sound serious.
What a Joke. How about showing us for those who didn’t get to see it the first time around some All Together Now,My Two Wives and the Bob Morrison Show. There’s more than enough variety there with all the episodes made to see us through till 2015/2016 at the latest.
It could be worse though.Instead of BBT They Gasp Horror decide at the last minute to put on the Sullivans instead.Great For the Nostalgics out there who lived during World War 1 and 2 but for the generation so disgusted with Home and Away It wouldn’t work.
Love TBBT, can’t get enough.
David, nice cast pic. Can you tell us where you found it, please.
I love the Big Bang Theory – but Nine’s constant repeat-at-thon is getting ridiculous.
This reminds me when Gordon Ramsay shows had some minor success on Nine, they milked it dry and jammed his shows all over the schedule until the fad wore off.
How about re runs of Dallas to lead us up to the new series ? Or some repeats of shows like Law of the Land, which I dont think has been repeated I may be incorrect here, but it was quite a good show, in my opinion with I think Lisa Hensley.
I know it’s all about the bottom line, but if they must rely on BBT – how about some behind the scenes specials – or interviews with cast members – ET must have done some with the cast over the years – Helberg and Nayyar have interesting other pursuits, Bialik and Galecki were child stars made good into adult actors, Parsons is a theatre and movie actor. Is it too much to ask 9 to think outside the square? Answer – Yes.
Plus all the episodes on GO!, although I noticed that GO is changing its 6.30-7.30 timeslot to repeats of Top Gear, however 2.5 Men and TBBT still airs at random times most days.
My god. Really bored
What a dispiriting schedule. Where are the home grown sitcoms?
BBT never gets old
