Timeshifted data sees Seven tie ‘Block-buster’ week with Nine

By David Knox on July 16, 2012 / Filed Under News 10

Mine, mine, mine, mine….

Just over a week ago it was reported that Nine had won Week 27 (July 1-8) thanks to The Block finale and State of Origin III.

But now that Consolidated (Timeshifted) data has come in, Seven actually level-pegged the week.

Overnight data saw Nine win with 29.1% to Seven’s 28.3%.

But Consolidated viewing, which accounts for people watching a programme on their PVR for up to 7 days later, saw Nine drop and Seven rise. Drama shows usually top the list of shows that pick up extra viewers, rather than Reality, Sport and News.

As a result both tied on 28.5%.

It would have been very significant if Nine had lost the week in which it had The Block auction and State of Origin, but it’s still an achievement by Seven to tie.

We’ve previously seen Primary Channel wins switch hands with Timeshifted, but I don’t recall a network win changing hands yet. Presumably it’s only a matter of time…

That many people out of that tiny sample of people meters recording shows to shift something .8% for a week?

    Questionable

Being picky. Nine won the week. Seven won the week.

Just to be really picky – “It would have been very significant if Nine had lost the week”. Being a tie, Nine didn’t win.
    Congrats to Seven.

Thanks for the update David. And I noticed your State of Origin word or numeral choice. Heh. Thinking seriously it’s a good solution.

I asked, but have been advised none changed hands this year.

What about a few weeks back when Seven won the week by something as little as 0.2% of the week?

Did time shift change the results much then?

Wow that is a lot for Seven to get back. Well done to them. It just proves timeshifting is just as important as Live is.

Wow. Nine have *two* shows above 2.5 million viewers, and cannot win the week. Shows how bad the rest of their programming really is.

I assume though Nine still won East Coast states.
