Actor Colin Friels is resting at home after collapsing on stage during a performance of Death of a Salesman.

He was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney by ambulance after collapsing during the second act.

A spokeswoman for Belvoir Theatre said Friels, 59, was not feeling well during the interval last night but wanted to go on. He had been suffering from flu for a few days.

The show was cancelled and audience members were offered tickets to see the show again when it transfers to the Theatre Royal in October.

Friels, who narrates Go Back to Where You Came From for SBS, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 1997 and has been in long-term remission.

Performances for tonight and tomorrow have been cancelled.

The percentage of people that survive Pancreatic Cancer is so small that to live an extra 15 years is nothing short of a miracle and one can only wish the best to a great Australian actor who must have the constitution of an ox.
