Men’s 5000m: Craig Mottram, Collis Birmingham, David McNeill (heats)

Women’s 400m Hurdles: (final)
Women’s long jump (final)
Women’s 200m (final)
Men’s 110m Hurdles (final)
It’s the moment of truth for Steve Hooker in the men’s pole vault qualifying. Can he get over the yips and post a height good enough for the final? Also keep a look out for Jarrod Bannister (javelin) and our men in the 5000m as they all aim to qualify. Craig Mottram will be making his 4th appearance at an Olympic Games. There are four gold medals up for grabs in the second session – the women’s 200m showdown between Allyson Felix (USA) and Veronica Campbell-Brown (Jamaica) is bound to create headlines, while the 110m hurdles clash between Xiang (China), Dayron Robles (Cuba), David Oliver (USA) should be thrilling. The women’s 400m hurdles brings together current world champion America’s Lashinda Demus, the reigning gold medallist Melaine Walker (Jamaica) and local hope Perri Shakes-Drayton.

EQUESTRIAN: Jumping *GOLD MEDAL EVENT*
Wednesday August 8 at 8.35pm AEST – live on LONDON 6
Jumping: Julia Hargreaves, James Paterson-Robinson, Edwina Tops-Alexander, Matthew Williams (finals) Edwina Tops-Alexander is Australia’s top-ranked show jumper and should be a contender for our first Olympic medal in the individual final at Greenwich Park. We have won 11 medals in equestrian at the Olympic Games, six of them gold, but they have all come in eventing. Edwina won the Global Champions Tour last year and is ranked no. 8 in this very British of sports.

SAILING *GOLD MEDAL EVENT*
Wednesday August 8 at 9.45pm AEST – live on LONDON 8
49er: Nathan Outteridge & Iain Jensen (medal race)
The race has already been won. Australia’s reigning world champions Nathan Outteridge and Iain Jensen are so far ahead in points they are guranteed the gold medal. Only a time penalty for a major infringement – an unlikely but not unheard of scenario – can deprive Outteridge and Jensen of their gold medal.

CYCLING: BMX
Wednesday August 8 at 11.55pm AEST – live on LONDON 2
Women’s: Caroline Buchanan, Lauren Reynolds (seeding time trial)
Men’s: Sam Willoughby, Brian Kirkham, Khalen Young (seeding time trial)
It’s a first opportunity to savour BMX, with the men’s and women’s seeding runs which determine the draw for the knockout stages. Sam Willoughby and Caroline Buchanan are Australia’s star attractions.

DIVING
