‘Hitler’ angry with Nine’s Olympics

By David Knox on August 7, 2012 / Filed Under London Olympics, News 23

Even Hitler is unhappy with Nine’s Olympics broadcast in this terribly funny parody from the German film Downfall

You need to have a sense of humour to see the fun in this one.

Warning: Language (and I don’t just mean German)….

It must be noted that Berlin did host both the Summer and Winter Olympics in 1936 and Hitler did have the duty to open them. So it makes this skit even better knowing that.

Splendid!!!! I laughed my head off at that, extremely amusing, well done to the wit that put that one together. There are some brilliant Downfall parodies on YouTube, this is definitely one of the funniest.

@ TM — I just checked out that link you gave on YouTube. It was very funny! A parody on parodies indeed.

I always love a good Downfall parody and this one is brilliant.

On the one hand we hear nothing but criticism of Nine’s coverage of the Games, but on the other it’s winning them the ratings hands down every night, so they don’t see it as a failure rather as a great success. Hard as it is too believe they’ll probably give the whole team a big fat bonus when they come home at this rate.

If you really dislike Nine’s coverage and want to see them learn from this fiasco (better still not get the Games ever again) then don’t watch them! If it loses money they’ll stop doing it, but if it makes a profit they’ll keep it up.

Haha this is brilliant. If it wasn’t plagorism of intellectual content then I would tell the director to submit it to Movie Extra’s Tropfest =p.

This one is the best of them all however: youtube.com/watch?v=QSYk8ofhYFY

Steveany 2.0 is right, there must have been hundreds of versions of this internet meme made over the years . (I liked the irony of the one where Hitler complains about all of the ‘Downfall’ parodies).

This one is quite good (being topical always helps) but my favourite is still the one about that stupidly-named stupid idea for a sandwich spread which I suspect Steveany gave a nod to when he upgraded himself to 2.0.

    I sit corrected! Thanks all.

The footage is actually from the German film ‘Downfall, not ‘Inglorious Basterds’.

Pretty funny. Looks like nearly all of Hitler’s staff submitted shuffling videos for Big Brother. :D

    Gold!

This is from “Downfall”, not “Inglorious Basterds”.

Very funny, but it’s from the film Downfall, not Inglorious Basterds.

It’s not Inglorious Basterds – it’s from the film ‘Downfall’ which was on SBS the other month.

lol these never get old. And everything was spot on. If they won’t listen to viewers maybe 9 will listen to Hitler.

Funniest thing I’ve seen in a long while. And spot on, too.

This particular comedy vehicle has been done to death in recent years but this was a good one.
Hitler’s right – let’s boycott the ‘Howzat’ series! BTW David, sorry to be a nerd but it’s a clip from ‘Downfall”, not “Inglorious Basterds”.

  22. Craig August 7, 2012 at 7:13 am -

I’ve seen this clip used before on something else.

I’m sure Nine is not amused, too bad. [sarcasm]
