Oops. Nine News plays old news.

Nine News Brisbane hits the wrong button and our women's relay swimmers almost win Gold all over again.

Earlier this week Nine News boss Darren Wick told TV Tonight that Nine News Brisbane was in a process of rebuilding after ‘Choppergate.’

But if Tuesday night’s bulletin is anything to go by, there are still some kinks to iron out.

After Sarah Harris told viewers that Emily Seebohm had won Silver, footage cut away to the Gold won by our women’s relay swimmers -an event that took place about 48 hours earlier.

Nine ran 1 minute and 10 seconds of the story before Damian Ryan suddenly appeared live and proceeded to pick up with the latest news.

Wick also mentioned to TV Tonight that where bulletins had made errors, wherever possible they would endeavour to correct the information on air.

It’s unclear whether anyone acknowledged playing the wrong vision before 6:30, but at least it’s not serious enough to become Olympics-gate.

Meanwhile Nine’s Olympic broadcast also dropped out after 11pm on Tuesday night, leaving viewers to watch a “blue screen of death” for around two minutes, before vision was restored.

A Nine spokesperson told TV Tonight the mistake was down to human error.

  1. Doesn’t anyone actually watch what’s going out these days? Two minutes of nothing would be unheard of in days past. An ID slide, some music, an apology? Was anyone actually at home?
