Irish-Australian actor Patrick Harvey is returning to ELEVEN soap Neighbours six years after exiting.

Harvey, who played larrikin Connor O’Neill, spent many of his scenes as part of the “House Of Trouser” with shared with Ryan Moloney.

“As soon as the wardrobe department pulled out the boxers and Hawaiian shirt, I was back in character,” joked Harvey. “However, it wasn’t until Ryan dropped his dacks in a scene that I knew I was home.”

Harvey, who has more recently appeared on City Homicide and Rush, won a Logie Award in 2003 for Best New Talent.

  1. He is one of many characters I wouldn’t mind back. That and Zeke(It appears in real life fellas like that actually exist who are loving and kind to women and true gentlemen, they make a few silly mistakes but all the same they come from a good home)

  2. @alfagirl, I thought they were half sisters. I can’t be sure if it was referenced in the show or I read it somewhere, as I wasn’t watching it all the time when Jade arrived in Ramsay St.

  3. Funnily enough David, there was a storyline during the 20th anniversary episodes where Lance was upset with Toadie for “replacing” him with Connor… they do have their similarities!

  4. This is not relevant to the current story but I’d like to say something about Neighbours. I have been watching it since it started on Channel 7. Sometimes I love it. Sometimes I hate it. Sometimes I get angry because I feel I am being treated like a fool. Sonia and Jade are sisters. Both lovely looking girls. However Jade has some asian heritage which has not been addressed on the show ie half sisters, adopted sisters, whatever. It is insulting to expect the viewer to overlook that the two sisters are of different racial backgrounds. Ok got that off my chest. Please don’t say I’m a racist. I’m not. I’m just a stickler for detail.

  5. Thats great news. The last I saw of his character, he was being driven away from Ramsay Street locked in the boot of a car, a sad way for a comic characater to exit. Hopefully we will get an explanation as to what happened to him.

  6. @Mia – Yeah, I was never clear on what happened to him either. His last scenes were puzzling. It seemed as though one of Paul’s son supposedly killed him and buried in in the ground afterwards?

    Note sure.

  7. tomothyd – he probably hasnt, and i imagine thats why he is being brought back. toadie has calmed down since callum and sonia have been introduced so who better to ruin that… hehe.

any idea when his eps will air, david?

  8. I’m hoping this is just a short stint. I never liked the ‘Connor’ character, and was hoping he was one of the 2005’s plan crash victims. Hopefully ‘Connor’ has grown up a little since we last saw him.

  9. This is such fantastic news, I only wish it was a permanent return. Connor is such a classic Neighbours character.

David – as a bit of a Neighbours nerd, I have to point out that Dan MacPherson actually left the show a few months before Patrick Harvey arrived – did you mean Blair McDonough?
